"Linsanity" chronicles the surprising rise of basketball player Jeremy Lin. in February 2012; an entire nation of basketball fans unexpectedly went "Linsane." Prior to this now-legendary run, Lin had faced adversity in his career at every turn. He wasn't offered a scholarship by any major university, nor was he drafted by any NBA team after a standout collegiate career at Harvard. Stuck in the mire of a disappointing season, the New York Knicks did what no other NBA team had thought about doing--they gave backup point guard Jeremy Lin an opportunity to prove himself. Disappointing

This movie is a documentary. It is not a story, unless a lengthy list of facts and accomplishments constitutes a story. While the main character is an inspiring young man and has overcome all kinds of obstacles to become a phenomenal success--and yet remained a humble, likeable human being, I wouldn't care to watch it again. I was expecting something more, I guess. To a basketball buff, this might be engaging but to the novice, it is not terribly engaging.

Phenom

Chronicles the life of an Asian basketball player. Though he has a good youth career he gets little attention so he attends Harvard. He does not get drafted but eventually signs as a free agent. He spends time in the Developmental League and then is released two times. He ends up in NYC where he eventually gets a chance to perform and does the most with his chance. Insightful.

Interesting story of an unusual NBA Player

Interesting story as I am always anxious to know how successful people reached their goals. I am not a NBA fan but because Lin is an Asian, and he is a rare NBA player with a Harvard degree, the story kept me interested throughout.
