Reviews about The Walking Dead
I've read about 10 pages of reviews here and I am wondering about the impatience of TWD fans. The first half of this season was used to develop new characters with depth and to refresh old ones after the bloodbath and subordination of the main group by Neegan. The first episode temporarily crushed my spirit when Glenn was killed, but the subsequent episodes went about detailing Neegan's methods, psychological and physical cruelty, using Daryl, the Hilltop and the Kingdom as examples.Fully a third of the episodes against the Governor were used in character and relationship development; Glenn &Maggie, Michonne & Rick, Daryl & Merl plus character development ...
*******************Possible spoilers******************Well done AMC. I binged watched the first 6 crazy/wild seasons and loved every minute. Halfway through the deliberate, slow pace of season 7 and I'm more into it (If that's even possible)! Love the slow burn that's happening with the main characters at the hands of the main antagonists, the Neegan group ("We're all Neegan.."). At this point the undead are still there but mainly in the background with the focus on character/relationship building and I couldn't be happier because I want to care about them. The deliberate blunt force beating/killing of two of the main characters from the first 6 seasons in EP 1 really worked ...
I've been reading the reviews, and many of the complaints I've seen about this show appear to be personal preferences not being met. Not to say TWD has always met MY personal preferences, because it hasn't. I almost stopped watching during Season 5 because of all the dang cliffhangers. A good series doesn't need to cliffhang every episode to make certain people come back, but an intense dislike of cliffhangers is a pet peeve of mine, and not something everyone hates as much--or will even think was overused, as I did.The show is based on a comic book series, and though it's not totally faithful to the source material, ...
I've only seen the first episode so far, but it was way intense...a lot like the comic. I really wish they hadn't killed Abraham, though, although in the books he's been dead a long time now and they were probably just trying to get a little synchronicity going. Now everyone thinks Rick is Negan's bitch. Haven't you people learned anything in 6 complete seasons? Rick is NOBODY'S bitch, & never will be.
The last few weeks I've tried to have an open mind but after watching I keep asking myself "how many more crap episodes am I willing to watch?" And it's not due to the acting - the writers; however, don't even seem to be trying anymore (referring particularly to the past three episodes of season 7) - SMH. Poorly written garbage. Expected more from TWD
I have enjoyed the walking dead series. This is not my favoirite season. It is frustrating to watch with Negan and his ridiculous character. I bought season 7 as I did the other seasons. I watched previuos seasons over and over. I have not wanted to watch ANY of the first 4 episodes of season 7 a second time. I hope it gets better.
Amazon video is horrible....able to watch Hulu, Apple TV, Netflix with no problem, but when I try to watch The Walking Dead nothing but buffering. There is nothing wrong with my bandwidth, because if there was I would have issues with the other......fix the problem Amazon or give me my money back
Although slow it is a good season overall, nice character development. The introduction of Negan has everyone completely on edge, which is in a way a good thing because we needed a character to shake things up. Even though his killings are unnecessary, he is a challenge that Rick and the crew have never faced before and he has shook them to their core. You either love him or hate him.
